Team India’s Orange Training Kit: The Internet’s New Favorite Joke

Since they have largely been seen wearing the team’s blue kits, many users also had conflicting feelings about the new uniform.

Many users also had mixed reactions to the new kit

In a recent practice before their match against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8, Team India debuted their brand-new orange training uniform for the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. Fans were quick to draw attention to the similarities between the new jerseys and the t-shirts worn by Swiggy delivery personnel after the new uniforms captured everyone’s attention online. Additionally, the food delivery app claimed that “boys were ready to deliver (the world cup)” on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Internet user Mufaddal Vohra posted a picture of former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli wearing the new uniform on social media. The caption read, “Virat Kohli in India’s World Cup training jersey.” Swiggy commented in response to the same, “looks like boys in the orange jersey are ready to deliver (the world cup).”

The online food delivery service’s humorous response received a lot of feedback on social media.

They always succeed in seizing every marketing opportunity, according to a user.

Please make sure that delivery happens within the next 45 days, said someone.

Another replied, “Wakayi me delivery boy jaisi feeling aa rahi (They actually look like a delivery boys).”

The new uniform received mixed reviews from many people, who were usually seen sporting the team’s blue uniforms.

“Team India or @Swiggy delivery boys?” someone said. I had to take a second look to make sure they were ICT players.

The team is sporting an orange training uniform for the first time. India used a saffron-colored t-shirt and navy blue pants against England in 2019 after the International Cricket Council required the usage of home and away outfits. The ICC stated, “For televised ICC events, all participating teams will be required to provide two different colored uniforms, with the exception of the host nation, which has a preference for color and may, if it so chooses, provide only one color uniform to be worn in all matches throughout the event. Prior to the competition, the teamswill be informed of the color of the team’s uniform for each game.
